From January to August 2017, Laiwu exported totally 2,856 batches of preserved fresh garlic, weighing 101,170 tons, up 16.3% and 13.1% year over year respectively. The city has achieved a continuous rise in exports of preserved fresh garlic for the 4th straight year.
Laiwu is a main garlic producing area, and mainly exports garlic to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America and other regions. In recent years, the garlic produced in the city of Laiwu has seen a continuous rise in terms of export volume thanks to its good color, thick peel and attractive appearance plus a constant product quality.
